The six and final day!

Oh what a day!
We finished off our visit here in Maui with an action packed day.
Mom finished her 7th book... I attempted to read my second... and Gina and Billy finished their 4th book.
Billy and I woke up early and hit the beach... we were ste on seeing a sea turtle... and we did!
It was bigger than Billy, I squealed... it was weird!
As I was getting out of the ocean... I got hit by a huge wave... and rolled onto shore like a beached whale. From that minute on I decided that I am no longer cool. :)
We then spent some time at the pool... which quickly became a sandbox... due to the showers by the beach being out of order.
We had a wonderful afternoon around the pool... each taking our turn on the water slide... see above.
We then came back to the condo in order to get ready for the sunset and our final dinner out. We had an AMAZING dinner. Billy and I first sat at the sushi bar... and had a few different types of sushi... but then met up with mom and Gina for the main course. We went to a place that is like Benihannas... you know... where they cook infront of you. YUM! We shared a bit of saki too!
We then hit the ABC store for some trinkets and now we are back in the room for a good night's sleep. Then mom found cockroaches in the car... but we killed them.
It's been awesome sharing our vacation with you all! We will see you very soon!
Aloha.

It is day FOUR!

Day four of the Linse's Hawaiian Vacation.
Another great day full of trade winds and book reading!
Mom wanted me to first clarify that she has read 5 books. I am not too sure when and where my count went wrong... but she wanted the world to know that she is ahead in the race.
Billy finished another book today... and Gina as well.
The big news is.... I finished my book today. It was a very very good book. I have planned now to take a day off from reading... and maybe focus more on the weather.
Today we did have scattered showers and a RAINBOW... it was cool.
We had a great morning... walked about a mile down the beach... in which I tried to swim back... against the current. I didn't get too far.
We then snorkled and played in the water.
Gina is actually loving the water... and becoming a bit of an adventurer... she has walked past the shore break.
We didn't see too many unordinary fish.. though two fish found Billy rather interesting and decided to follow us for a good 100 yards. I laughed at them... and swallowed a mouthful of water.
We had a nice lunch... and then tool a drive North. It was amazing to see part of the Island... in which we stopped to see the local surfers at Honolua Bay. I think I spelled that wrong. Anyway... I got a few good shots... one is above.
We then came back... and cooked an amazing dinner here... there are BBQ's for us. Billy bought some steaks and we enjoyed the evening around the dinner table.
So... great day... though tonight I am very tired... a lot of swimming and way too much reading!
One last thought.
As I was swimming up current trying to keep up with Billy on the shore... many thoughts were going through my mind.
We are challenged to go against the grain... against the current of our world. Though that path, the one less traveled... is rather challenging. There were several times that my arms were burning and my legs were weary. I wanted to just hop out and give up. But I didn't... the blue water was what I was shooting for... the sand seemed so dry and barren.
The Lord calls us to persevere.... to go against the tide. I finally figured out that if I do stay on the path... I will become stronger, well-disciplined... my journey/destination will be well worth the pressure.
So all you out there... push against the grain. Choose the way that seems unnatural. Risk going against the world's pattern.
You just might love where you end up.
Goodnight and Aloha.

Day Three, Trade Winds
Trade Winds: def-
The trade winds are a pattern of wind found in bands around the Earth's equatorial region. The trade winds are the prevailing winds in the tropics, blowing from the high-pressure area in the horse latitudes towards the low-pressure area around the equator.
Something I learned today. Weather never ceases to amaze me.
Anyway... the trade winds came in today... and it was beautiful. Did you know that due to the trade winds... we are spaired from mosquitos. I love the logic. Just a bit of information for you all to know.
So... another update.
Good day... hot... but good. I think I got a little too much sun yesterday though... because when I stepped out onto the patio... my body was on fire! Yikes. Sunblock was applied 3 times today... since it is the third day.
Gina and I got to choose our activities today... well actually Billy set out the morning plans... sun and the pool.... but then Gina chose Bubba Gumps for lunch... and I chose surfing at the banyan tree.
We ventured our way to Bubba Gumps... where Gina went head-to-head with the waiter on "Gump Trivia". She actually stumped him. He shot off fifty questions to her... and without batting an eye... she was 49 for 50. Seriously... have you ever heard of that? But the waiter was impressed... and Billy sat there rather proud of this random bit of knowledge. Mom and I just laughed and ate our salads.
We then hit the Banyan Tree... hoping to hang 10. Well... I hung... and I fell 10 times... but still had fun. I surfed solo... mom, billy and gina waded in the water... and got some good shots... which are above.
I do have to give props to my impromptu surf instructor... who was out there helping 6 other people... and thought he should help me too. Here! Here! to Armadillo from the Goofy Foot Surf Shack. He set me up on some good waves... then told me to go to bigger waves. I did... that is where I fell 10 times. Armadillo welcomed me back into the small waves... after he saw the spills I took . :)
Thanks Armadillo.
We then came back... snacked on some goodies... made a few phone calls and settled in for a few episodes of The Office. Mom and Gina insisted on reading.
Speaking of reading... here is the update:
Mom- 3 books
Billy- 3 books
Gina- 3.5 books
Sara- 167 pages... and moving at a healthy pace.
I like to READ my books... not skim them like everyone else. I like to spell out the words, research them, place myself in the story.
Ok... I am lying... I just can't read as fast as them. But did they surf? No! :)
Tomorrow... we are taking Billy off of coffee... with hopes of getting him to stay in one place... and Black Rock is the place. I will shoot some good pictures of fishies. Yes.
Ok... off to get some sleep... my body is a bit sore from hitting the rocks while surfing! :)
But a thought for each of you.... do you ever wonder why the waves keep rushing in?
They just keep pushing up the shore... then give up... then try again... and again... don't you think they would eventually figure out that the shore is not for them.
Well... I guess we all do that. Just keep going back... with hopes that we eventually find solid ground.
aloha.

Yeah for Maui, Day 2

Ok, so day two is coming to an end.
What a nice day we had. We woke up and hit the beach. It was VERY warm... which is why we are ALL sitting soaking in ALOE... sunburned. Nothing better though than sunkissed faces after a long day.
Billy and I snorkled twice... since it is DAY 2. Tomorrow... three times!
I would have to say though... the fish were sleeping or something. I didn't see too many. Rumor had it though that there was an Octopus out there... must have missed it.
Another highlight is the "Book Challenge" we have going on here.
The only rule is to READ. As of day two here are the standings...
Mom: 1.5 books.
Billy: 1 book.
Gina: 1.25 books.
Sara: 63 pages.
Ok... so reading is not my strong point... but I did study the clouds today. I also examined that patterns of the tide and spotted some rather nice looking gentlemen. I should get a few points for that?
Excitement for the day was that a little kid pooped in the pool and so it was closed for cleaning for 4.5 hours this afternoon. Yeah... take a pool away from a bunch of resortgoers because of a few floaters... it almost got ugly. :)
We ate at the Hula Grill... it was good. I tasted the Chili Water. Good again.
Tomorrow... well.... snorkel at Black Rock and I think surfing in the afternoon.
Alright that is about it.
I do want to once again credit our God for giving us so much beauty. It is hard to see some of this beauty with only my eyes... wish you all could enjoy it. God's blessing in our life is AMAZING... from Livermore to Maui.
Miss and Love you all.

The first day
Aloha.
Welcome to the adventures of the Linse's Hawaiian vacation. I thought I would post a few random comments and some pictures... just for the heck of it. When the sun sets here... why not blog.
A few highlights:
Saw the first sunset of many
Drank the first drink... of many
Swam, snorkled and went down a waterslide
Watched the weather move over the island. Clouds are amazing here.
Now... time to eat sushi and well.... plan for tomorrow.
BTW... I saw some of the craziest fish today. God is so creative... though sometimes I wonder what he was thinking when designing some fish. Thoughts?
Ok. blog for today over. Tomorrow... snorkle and sun. Sic.
